Amid the casting announcements for Sunrise on the Reaping, Lionsgate revealed they were having an open casting call, where one fan would have the opportunity to be in the new Hunger Games movie.
The Hunger Games social media pages have been announcing the actors, who are going to be in the film for the past four weeks. However, Rather than announcing another character, they posted an open casting call where anyone who is over 18-years-old living in America can enter, by posting a video and using the hashtags.
The winner will have the chance to visit the set and possibly have a small role in the film. This has led to thousands of auditions being uploaded to social media, by fans who are hoping to be in the movie, but the internet is undecided on the winner.
Here are Illuminated’s top 10!
1. Our top pick for the role is @ohitsbea, who demonstrated her incredible stunt and acting skills in her TikTok audition.
2. Our second pick is @siennapaisleyclark, who performed an original song she wrote for The Hunger Games about Haymitch.
3. Our third pick is @cadegass, who has posted multiple audition videos for the film before the announcement and expressed his love for The Hunger Games. After hearing about the open casting call he posted an official audition.
4. Our fourth pick is @the_real_jnl, who posted an audition playing multiple versions of extras she could be in the film.
5. Our fifth pick is @emhahee, who also performed an original song.
6. Our sixth pick is @kaelamareevillegas, who auditioned as Proserpina, Effie Trinket’s sister, using lines from the Sunrise on the Reaping book.
7. Our seventh pick is @jakedeyton1, who was an extra in the first Hunger Games films and would like to reprise his role as an ancestor of his previous background character.
8. Our eighth pick is @ndude777, who auditioned for the role of one of the game makers cleaning the arena, which is a character from the book and a creative funny take on the casting call.
9. Our ninth pick is @danielleturk1, who posted an audition, where she pretended to be a potato. This is a reference to the book, when Beetee tells Haymitch how to make a battery using one. Although not as serious as some of the other auctions, we felt it was a funny reference to the book and unique audition.
10. Our last pick is @ourdailydoseofdaisy, the pocket beagle, who auditioned for a few characters, one being a mutated squirrel from the book, which was put into the arena.
Although these are our top 10, it is hard to say who Lionsgate is going to pick. Who is your favourite?
