Celebrities have been defying dress codes and wearing outrageous clothing (or lack thereof) to red carpets for years. Some most notable looks include Lady Gaga’s meat dress and Bianca Censori’s see through dress, but has Cannes Film Festival had enough?
The Festival, which often has extravagant train’s and lavish outfits, updated its dress code and the Charter now states, “nudity is prohibited” and “voluminous outfits” are not permitted. This forced celebrities to change their festival outfits last minute, but who defied the dress code?
Bella Hadid arrived at the Croisette wearing a Saint Laurent black dress. Although she was not nude, the dress had a high hip-slit, cross back and exposed sides.
Actress Wan QianHui also broke the rules in a Wang Feng couture gown, that features a “voluminous” tulle cream skirt.
Another voluminous gown was worn by Heidi Klum, who had a high slit and long trail pink dress by Ellie Saab.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star Pom Klementieff also risked the no nudity rule in a low plunging neckline lilac dress by Loewe
Actress Halle Berry, who revealed she had to last minute change one of her outfits, due to the new rules, wore a black and pink dress with a train by Celia Kritharioti.
The Dubai Bling star Farhana Bodi also wore a voluminous gown, but instead of a large train she had a pink petal cape, by Atelier Zuhra.
She also wore a sculptured Nali Barzani gown with a train.
